I 1st came to the mission when I was going through problems with my wife and I got here and was asked if i would do a background check and other things of course i passed it an lived here an made sure things i was making sure that i followed the rules and paid what they asked but not only getting myself together and go back into society but it doesn't come easy you have to have the right people around you to get where you need to go i want to thank the mission staff for giving me the opportunity to grow not only as a person and individual but stand for others James Sleighter and Katherine an so many more helped me get on my feet an still after 19 years the missions still holds a big place in my heart cause you never lose hope an your faith in GOD when they continue to get people back to living right for themselves God Bless you an i hope you realize that we need so we can go out and help the community and the homeless out in the streets as well

My bookstore experienced a devastating fire and I applied for assistance with BINC. I received quick contact from BINC and the assistance was above and beyond what I thought I would receive. In a time when cash flow was tight (especially while waiting for my insurance to come through), BINC helped my store stay afloat. I am so grateful for BINC being an incredible resource to the bookstore industry.

Over the past five years, our church has partnered with Solutions for Change, and it has always been a joy. Whether through monthly meals, childcare support, Christmas events, or providing gifts for residents, their staff is consistently communicative, organized, and willing to go the extra mile. Even through staffing and leadership changes, we have seen Solutions for Change remain steadfast in serving families with excellence and integrity. They do an incredible job equipping individuals to build strong, stable lives, and we are grateful to partner with an organization that truly makes a lasting impact in our community.

I love this non profit!! They are so so sweet and were very helpful throughout my whole college process and are still willing to help me with my college journey. They have fun field trips in which I was able to become friends with people from other schools, and get closer with students from my school too. I’m truly so thankful for Mayra and Stephanie who are super awesome and supportive, I really love this non profit and everything they have done for me. I love them!! Investing in your future is your parent's job as a child, and a personal responsibility as an adult. Through life though, we learn that networks lead to success. But they only work if they are nurtured like an other relationship. <br>USACARES invested in me during my transition post-retirement. They paved a way for me to have a chance. They showed my doors, and asked that when I go through that I sell the hell out of myself. <br> <br>As they say, "Trust the process", and I did. I was able to land a great job with a large company. <br> <br>As the economy struggles, so do businesses, and this led to layoffs. Two years, and now I am without a job. Two years had passed. I reached back out to USACARES and I was having lunch with them the day I was laid off. Already planning on what moves we can make next to get progress back on the plate. This... is investment. Most organizations will close the door once you complete their program. Not this one. <br>To this day, I continue to support them, the way they have supported me. <br> <br>Without their leadership and personable connections to veterans, i am not sure I would be in my dream job currently.

This past summer I spent interning with PALANTE has not only been educational, but inspiring as well. I was graciously given the opportunity to gain real work and field experience while working with a team that cares about their community impact. Especially during a time when things can feel a little hopeless, this organization stands strong on their commitment to the community, inspiring me and others. Aiding those facing personal or legal issues regarding eviction or landlord abuse, this organization fights for their community and offers unwavering support. I have watched as seniors and even youth have come into the office and left gleaming with a new sense of support, a new set of skills, or even just glad to be offered a step onto a better path. Sitting in the heart of Harlem, Palante is there for those who have been failed and disenfranchised by regulations and policies or the lack thereof. It’s been a great pleasure witnessing direct change and impact firsthand.

Genesis Joy House is truly an outstanding organization, and I am so grateful for the vital work they do. As the only all-women veteran homeless shelter in Georgia, they provide a safe, supportive environment for women who have served our country and are experiencing homelessness. The staff is compassionate, professional, and deeply committed to helping these women rebuild their lives.<br><br>The shelter offers not only a place to stay but also a range of programs designed to empower and uplift these veterans. From housing and job support to emotional care and guidance, Genesis Joy House is a beacon of hope and a true lifeline for many women in need.<br><br>I highly recommend Genesis Joy House for the incredible difference they make in the lives of our female veterans.

I have been wanting to be a volunteer at a cat shelter for so long. After I graduated high school I looked for places that I could volunteer. And AWL came up as the first one and was close to get to. I still remember the first day I went to go look at the place. It was a very busy Saturday, but everything was run very smoothly and everyone welcomed me with open arms. And the house is such a fun and interactive experience that is unique to AWL. Now I am 20 and have so much more experience. I have seen everything that goes into this. It is truly amazing to see everything unfold. Watching and being apart of a community that loves cat/animals in general come together. Is so wholesome and everyone truly has a heart of gold and cares so deeply about these cats. I am so glad that AWL came up for me! I couldn’t have asked for a better place than AWL! 😸

I have been volunteering at North Hills Community Outreach for 12 years! Before that when I was employed I donated money to the organization but now I donate time. I consider everyone there my friend - staff and volunteers alike. When I was 5 my Father was shot in a hunting accident. I can remember receiving services from organizations like NHCO way back then. Food, Christmas presents, Easter baskets, etc. Now I am able to participate in this great organization giving back to others what I myself have received. Volunteers at NHCO tend to stay for the long term! I am so proud to be a part of North Hills Community Outreach.

When I learned about the work that Samaritan House does, I was amazed by the breadth of the services that they offer. They are an organization that truly cares about their community. In these times of uncertainty, it is more important than ever to have organizations like Samaritan House in place to help with the ongoing issues of homelessness, food insecurity, and medical care. I am proud to donate to this organization.

I have been a member of the Stone House Board for several years. Every day, I am inspired by Stone House’s unwavering commitment to improving the lives of survivors of domestic abuse. Stone House represents a second chance for so many who hit their lowest points in life. The organization literally saves lives. This is my WHY for serving on the Board.

Our counselor was Pedro Padilla, and he was excellent! In addition to presenting all data in a very precise and understandable fashion, he was patient with our questions, thorough in his responses, and had a very kind and subtly humorous demeanor. He walked us through our options, rights and responsibilities. Our counseling session was not only informative, it was enjoyable! <br>Thank you, Pedro.

When we moved to this location, we were looking for a credible nonprofit that was established and effective. We have found the African Vision of Hope is just that! They’re so wonderfully effective in Zambia to teach children a way out of poverty. Their credibility is well established, and we are pleased to support both financially and with volunteer time. We could not recommend this institution more.

In the middle of January, after the first ice storm to sweep the U.S., on the way to lunch with a friend, I had a slip and fall accident. I had never had a sprain or a fracture, minor or major, in my life, and was unsure what my next course of events in recovery and life would be like. In the heat of the moment, I called an ambulance and was taken to the local hospital ER where I was told that I had broken clean through both bones in my ankle and was sent on my way with a boot and crutches. After moving back in with my mom because I could not be independent, I was told the boot did more damage and required extensive surgery that would leave me disabled for 4 - 6+ months. I had to forfeit my new job, leave my home that I was still paying rent and utilities on, a car I can't drive, and a job that I was making great money doing for the past 2 years. A family friend recommended reaching out to Ms. Rebecca Campbell, and thanks to one phone call, I was able to find some financial assistance!

VHCDC has educated me on home ownership and what to look for when purchasing. Everyone from Jean, Nicole, Mr. Taylor my Realator Andreianna have helped me train my mind to stay on top of my debt to income ratio, increase my credit score, save money I didn’t know I could save and obtain my home. I’m forever grateful for the education that they have installed in me that I can pass down to create generational wealth. What I’ve learned with them I’ve never learned in any other program. Everyone I went to only gave me an application and a denial. This program helped me step by step achieve my goal and kept me in good spirits throughout the process. My children were so happy to hear and see for themselves the outcome our new lovely home.

The Homeless Empowerment Program (HEP) played a pivotal role in shaping who I am today. As a child, my family and I faced immense hardships, but HEP provided us with the support, stability, and resources we desperately needed to move forward. Their dedication to empowering families like mine gave us the opportunity to rebuild our lives.<br><br>Through their programs, I not only found safety and structure but also the inspiration to dream bigger. Today, I am proud to have recently graduated with my Master of Social Work (MSW) and am committed to serving others just as HEP served me. The values of compassion, service, and perseverance instilled in me during my time with HEP remain the driving force in my career and life.<br><br>I will forever be grateful to HEP for giving my family hope during our darkest times and helping me break the cycle of hardship. I have volunteered at Lexington Rescue Mission for over 20 years. My purpose was to fulfill Christ’s commandment to help the poor, the forgotten and prisoners. LRM has many opportunities to do this. This experience has helped me more than those I have helped and prayed for. The people I have worked with during volunteering assignments are the world’s saints. Here is a picture of men giving testimonials at a recent LRM dinner. Seeing people reclaim their lives is inspiring and adds great value to the human family from the work of volunteers.

The Union Gospel Mission are very community-oriented and truly dedicated to helping those in need. The Union Gospel Mission provides rehabilitation services for men who are ready to change their lives, as well as church services for the unhoused and hot meals for anyone who is hungry. The staff are awesome—caring, supportive, and always willing to help. The Union Gospel Mission is an amazing nonprofit that makes a real difference in the community. I’m grateful for the support they provided my family during a difficult time, and I appreciate the work they continue to do for so many others.

Wounded Warrior Homes, not to be confused with Wounded Warrior Project, is a homegrown charity that provides post 9/11 PTSD and brain-injured veterans with transitional housing, services and resources and has been doing so in North San Diego County for almost 12 years. We discovered WWH some 7-8 years ago and were impressed with its mission and that it was meeting its mission via three homes, serving these veterans while assisting them with their transition back into the community. This all was begun by a local couple who wanted to make a difference, and that is what they are doing. My husband and I have been active in their efforts ever since and have become donors as well.
